LINC is working with the Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative to create positive pre-kindergarten learning spaces in our communities! The LINC real estate development department will be working to bring four sites across the city up to code so that they can be used by the ELNC preschool service system.

ELNC offers an innovative preschool service system aimed at providing quality early care and education in underserved neighborhoods in Grand Rapids. As an existing partner, LINC will be re-designing existing spaces to make a more open and vibrant learning environment.

LINC staff will work with local contractors and architects to re-develop four sites: the former Roosevelt Child Development Center at 641 Vries, a space at the San Juan Diego Academy at 1650 Godfrey, a space at the Wellspring Church at 811 Wealthy, and a space at the South End Community Outreach Ministries at 1545 Buchanan.

All of the spaces will be up to American with Disabilities Act standards, and will be designed to be energy-efficient and sustainable. The LINC team is looking to have these all completed within a year.

We can’t wait to visit the first site when it is finished and filled with caring ELNC staff and the bright, hopeful young faces of tomorrow! Watch out for updates at www.lincrev.org!
