No list is too long.
Back in February Tiffani Smith, an aspiring poet and mother of five, came to the LINC Opportunity Center orientation to learn more about the opportunities available to help her achieve success. After the orientation she was assigned a personal opportunity coach and they worked together to identify a list of goals that she wanted to work towards. The seemingly ambitious list included repairing her credit, developing a business plan, building her poetry brand “Arnica Avenue,” and finding a job that would bring in some income so that she would be able to provide for her children and pay off debt.
After developing a plan of action, Tiffani and her coach agreed to start working on building her brand and getting herself to a position where she could pursue employment opportunities with a professional looking résumé and cover letter. Those first action steps laid the framework for remarkable growth and achievement. In three months, Tiffani has created several media sites to promote her efforts toward creating a household brand, developed a business plan, performed at several poetry slams and recently gained employment which will equip her to provide for her family.
