Believe 2 Become full steam ahead!
This Fall the Central and West Believe 2 Become Zones are entering new phases of the movement.
The Central Zone has completed the Action Planning phase and will bring it all together for Integrative planning. The final two meetings will be a time to celebrate the work of the action teams and design a comprehensive map for the work to follow to achieve sustainability. Even though the large gatherings will be coming to an end, the work will not be over until all children are graduating from high school with the full support of their parents, families and their community.
Join the Central zone on October 27 at Ford Middle from 5:30pm-8:30pm to find out how you fit into this work!
As Central heads into Integrative planning the action for the West Zone has just begun! On October 6, they gathered and identified four strategies to achieve their collective goal that “children are well rounded, healthy and prepared to be successful in life by what they learn at home, in school and in the community!”
The top four strategies are:
1. Parents are active in their children's lives by teaching discipline and family values at home.
2. Children are prevented from violence and drugs through positive communication that values their opinions, is attentive to their needs, and provides them with trust, respect, and love.
3. Parents are involved as volunteers at the school and dedicate more time with their children at home.
4. Children hear loving, positive messages that encourage them to dream big, graduate from high school and go to college.
On November 10, the community will gather again at César E. Chavez Elementary at 5:30pm to break into Action Teams and design the work.
