At long LAST!
“Building a civic-minded community takes time. It requires that people who have little history of engagement in local affairs be given the opportunity to take part in local leadership opportunities.”
Lionel Beaulieu, Creating Vibrant Communities & Economies in Rural America
LINC has developed a series of leadership trainings and workshops to build capacity and promote social change in the communities we serve. These efforts complement LINC’s other neighborhood revitalization efforts by offering training in three critical areas of development: entrepreneurship and business management, personal finances and asset management, and leadership and neighborhood engagement.
Additionally, LINC will combine core elements of each of these areas to create the LINC Academy for Social Transformation (L.A.S.T.), a four day academy in which participants will be equipped with skills and knowledge to prepare them to obtain leadership roles and work to further promote social change efforts. L.A.S.T. seeks to create mid- and long-term impact through lasting transformational opportunities for residents, families, youth, business owners and nonprofit organizations in our communities.
If you have expertise in any of these areas, LINC is seeking qualified consultants to co-design course trainings. Follow the links for each course to view the corresponding Request for Proposal. All RFP's will be due August 19, 2011.
The course offerings include:
- Social Justice and Poverty
- Tax Preparation
- Legal Client Services
- Conflict Management
- Financial Planning
- English as a Second Language
- Business Financial Technical Assistance
- Business Management Technical Assistance
- Business Legal Technical Assistance
