What do you think of when you envision your favorite city, town or neighborhood? For many it is the busy streets filled with local folks talking, laughing, sitting and walking amidst the backdrop of local coffee shops, grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants, antique stores, jewelers, storefronts filled with colorful products and bustling offices.  This vision highlights one of the pillars of a vibrant neighborhood or community: its business district.  These spaces provide an opportunity for community members to meet and mingle with each other, access the services and amenities they need, and support the livelihood of their fellow neighbors. Urban LINC is that kind of space.

Urban LINC provides a cowork space for local entrepreneurs and business professionals on the Southeast side of Grand Rapids. The most recent addition to LINC's Economic Development Department provides community members with a unique working experience in a state of the art facility equipped with all the necessary business tools. The idea of shared workspace is a national trend for professionals on the go. With new technology and access to information from anywhere at all times of the day, most professionals can conduct business without the usual overhead.

Urban LINC seeks to create job and network opportunities for minorities by offering a community feel where individuals can conduct business, work on projects, cross-pollinate ideas, network, convene meetings, display art and show off talent. For $100 per month individuals will have access to wireless internet, conference space equipped with video conferencing, printer/copier/fax machines, community and social networking events, and discounts to local restaurants and businesses. This space will attract local talent and draw entrepreneurs to the neighborhood, adding vitality to the business core of our neighborhoods. Membership information and rates are available here.

Urban LINC is located on the first floor of the LINC Development Center, 1167 Madison Ave SE. Feel free to stop in!
